Black Mental Health Awareness Month: You Matter Too

As mothers and caregivers, we spend so much time taking care of others that it's easy to put our own needs last. Between work, family responsibilities, and everyday stress, finding time for ourselves can feel impossible.
Black Mental Health Awareness Month is a reminder that your mental health matters too.
Mental wellness is an important part of overall health. It affects how we cope with stress, connect with others, make decisions, and care for ourselves and our families. Yet many people struggle in silence because of stigma, lack of access to care, or the belief that they simply have to "push through."
The truth is that seeking support is a sign of strength.
Taking care of your mental health doesn't always mean making big changes. Sometimes it can look like:
Taking a few moments to rest and recharge
Talking with a trusted friend or loved one
Setting healthy boundaries
Asking for help when you need it
Connecting with supportive community spaces
No one is meant to carry everything alone.
At CinnaMoms, we believe that supporting families means supporting the whole person. We encourage moms to make space for their well-being and to remember that caring for themselves is not selfish—it is necessary.
This month, take a moment to check in with yourself. How are you really doing?
