Black Breastfeeding Week 2024
Reclaiming Our Narrative and Centering our Stories for Breastfeeding Justice
CITY OF INDUSTRY, Ca. (August, 2024)– Black Breastfeeding Week 2024 is here! The U.S. Breastfeeding Committee recognizes August as National Breastfeeding Month and August 25-31 of this year as Black Breastfeeding Week. This year's BBW theme, "Listen Up! Reclaiming Our Narrative & Centering Our Stories for Breastfeeding Justice," highlights community efforts across the nation, through virtual and in-person gatherings, to positively impact the Black infant and maternal mortality rates so prevalent in our nation.
Aligned with CinnaMoms' mission to create "a cultural space that promotes empowerment and self-transformation for Black/African American women" through WIC and CinnaMoms, this platform will continue connecting families of color with the resources and support they deserve, especially during Black Breastfeeding Week. We aim to celebrate and uplift CinnaMoms participants and equip them with the knowledge, tools, and community connections to thrive in their breastfeeding journey.
Dear CinnaMoms, you are powerful, and we are here to help you embrace that strength every step of the way.
