Committed to Black Motherhood
To create a cultural space that promotes empowerment and self-transformation for Black/African American women. We come together to share and advocate for breastfeeding/chestfeeding, parenting, and health for the entire life course.
This is the first time I have attended a CinnaMoms event. This is my fourth child and I have always found it a blessing to be able to participate in the WIC program. With my first child (17 years ago), these events were not in existence. I'm excited about the program and believe it is a great learning tool for new moms, young and older. Our community especially needs programs (CinnaMoms) like this to not only encourage new and young mothers to breastfeed, but also to educate them about breastfeeding and know that it is the best nutrition for a healthy and happy baby.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY
I love WIC! I think it's so great that breastfeeding mothers are supported and celebrated at events like CinnaMoms.
Today is my first event. This has been a wonderful resource. I'm looking forward to utilizing several of the partners.
I've learned so much through attending the support groups and feeling so welcome every time I speak to the ladies at the WIC office.
